Colossiens 1:15-16

15Le Christ est l'image visible du Dieu invisible. Il est le Fils premier-né, supérieur à tout ce qui a été créé. 16Car c'est par lui que Dieu a tout créé, dans les cieux et sur la terre : ce qui est visible et ce qui est invisible, les puissances spirituelles, les dominations, les autorités et les pouvoirs. Dieu a tout créé par lui et pour lui! 

Voici l'une des premières compositions expliquant l'unité de Dieu. La lettre de Paul aux Colossiens a été écrite vers 60 après JC. Au moins 15 ans avant que Jean n'écrive son évangile qui commence par cette imagerie. L'une des choses intéressantes sur lesquelles spéculer est que Paul et Jean se sont rencontrés à Éphèse et ont peut-être même discuté de cela !

Non seulement Jésus est le Fils de Dieu, Il est Dieu Incarné. Les premiers chrétiens tenaient et nous croyons toujours que Jésus, étant l'une des personnes du Dieu trinitaire, était là au tout début. Ceci explique l'utilisation de « nous » et « nous » dans les premiers chapitres de la Genèse. Dieu le Père consulte Dieu le Fils et Dieu le Saint-Esprit.

Comment les trois individus ne font-ils qu'un ? C'est l'un des grands mystères de Dieu. Pourtant, la Bible - l'Ancien et le Nouveau Testament en témoignent. Le Credo de Nicée donne le raisonnement scripturaire et théologique de la croyance chrétienne du Dieu trinitaire.

Néanmoins, l'une des choses que nous négligeons souvent dans notre adoration et nos prières est de comprendre que nous servons un Dieu trinitaire. Nous sommes redevables à Dieu le Père pour son don gracieux de la vie, nous sommes redevables à Dieu le Fils pour son sacrifice sur la croix, et nous sommes redevables à Dieu le Saint-Esprit pour sa présence en nous et sa direction dans nos vies. Ce sont des simplifications excessives du Dieu trinitaire, mais ce sont de vraies déclarations qui peuvent nous aider à réaliser que le Dieu que nous servons est plus grand et plus impressionnant que ce que nous pouvons vraiment comprendre.

De plus, toute la création, y compris les positions dominantes dans le monde, a été autorisée par Dieu. Pourquoi? Afin de maintenir l'ordre. Dieu n'est pas un Dieu du chaos, mais un Dieu de l'ordre. Même au milieu de mauvais politiciens et de lois mal appliquées, il y a toujours un sens de l'ordre en eux qui est ordonné par Dieu. Cela signifie-t-il que tous les responsables politiques ou patrons sont spécifiquement ratifiés par Dieu ? Bien sûr que non. Mais l'ordre que le système crée, que ce soit en politique ou dans les affaires, est ratifié par Dieu.

Nous devons prier pour ceux qui sont en position d'autorité. Puissions-nous le faire quotidiennement ! Nous n'avons pas à être d'accord avec leurs politiques ou leurs actions, mais nous devons reconnaître que la fonction qu'ils occupent fait partie du plus grand plan de Dieu pour maintenir l'ordre dans notre monde.

Cher Seigneur, nous te remercions d'être un Dieu d'ordre et non de chaos. Nous te remercions du fait que tant de sociétés à travers le monde sont basées sur les lois que tu as mises en œuvre dans Ta Parole. Nous te remercions car tu es un Dieu puissant et juste. Que tu es un Dieu trinitaire qui a non seulement pris forme humaine, mais que ton Esprit continue de se mouvoir et d'habiter parmi nous. Aide-nous à être plus attentifs à toutes tes révélations pour nous afin que nous soyons mieux équipés pour te servir.

Colossians 1:15:16

15The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

Here is one of the earliest compositions explaining the oneness of God.  Paul’s letter to the Colossians was penned around 60 AD.  At least 15 years before John wrote his Gospel that begins with this imagery.  One of the interesting things to speculate about is that Paul and John met in Ephesus and may have even discussed this!

Not only is Jesus the Son of God, He is God Incarnate.  The early Christians held and we still believe that Jesus, being one of the persons of the Triune God, was there at the very beginning.  This explains the use of “us” and “we” in the early chapters of Genesis.  God the Father is taking counsel with God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

How are the three individuals yet one?  It is one of the great mysteries of God.  Yet, the Bible - both the Old and New Testament testify to this.  The Nicene Creed gives the scriptural and theological reasoning for the Christian belief of the Triune God.

Nevertheless, one of the things that we often neglect in our worship and prayers is understanding that we do serve a Triune God.  We are indebted to God the Father for His gracious gift of life, we are indebted to God the Son for His sacrifice upon the cross, and we are indebted to God the Holy Spirit for His indwelling presence and guidance in our lives.  These are oversimplifications of the Triune God, but are true statements that can help us to realize that the God we serve is greater and more awesome than we can truly comprehend.

Further, all of creation, including the ruling positions in the world have been authorized by God.  Why?  In order to keep order.  God is not a God of chaos, but a God of order.  Even in the midst of bad politicians and wrongly applied laws there is still a sense of order within them that is ordained by God.  Does this mean that all political officials or bosses are specifically ratified by God?  Of course not.  But the order that the system creates either in politics or business is ratified by God.  

We are to pray for those who are in positions of authority.  May we do so daily!  We do not have to agree with their policies or actions, but we should recognize the office that they hold is part of God’s greater plan for maintaining order in our world.

Prayer

Dear Lord, we thank You that You are a God of order and not of chaos.  We thank you that so many societies around the world are based on the laws that you implemented in Your Word.  We thank you that You are a mighty and just God.  That you are a Triune God who has not only taken on human form, but that Your Spirit continues to move and dwell among us.  Help us to be more mindful of all of Your revelation to us so that we may be better equipped to serve you.

Hapa kuna moja ya nyimbo za mwanzo zinazoelezea umoja wa Mungu. Barua ya Paulo kwa Wakolosai iliandikwa karibu mwaka 60 BK. Angalau miaka 15 kabla ya Yohana kuandika Injili yake inayoanza na picha hii. Moja ya mambo ya kupendeza ya kubashiri ni kwamba Paulo na Yohana walikutana Efeso na wanaweza kuwa wamejadili hii!

Sio tu kwamba Yesu ni Mwana wa Mungu, Yeye ni Mungu Aliyefanyika Mwili. Wakristo wa kwanza walishikilia na bado tunaamini kwamba Yesu, akiwa mmoja wa nafsi za Mungu wa Utatu, alikuwepo hapo mwanzo. Hii inaelezea matumizi ya "sisi" na "sisi" katika sura za mwanzo za Mwanzo. Mungu Baba anashauriana na Mungu Mwana na Mungu Roho Mtakatifu.

Je! Hawa watu watatu bado ni mmoja? Ni moja ya mafumbo makubwa ya Mungu. Hata hivyo, Biblia - Agano la Kale na Jipya hushuhudia hii. Imani ya Nicene inatoa hoja ya kimaandiko na ya kitheolojia kwa imani ya Kikristo ya Mungu wa Utatu.

Zaidi ya hayo, uumbaji wote, pamoja na nafasi za kutawala ulimwenguni zimeidhinishwa na Mungu. Kwa nini? Ili kuweka utulivu. Mungu sio Mungu wa machafuko, lakini ni Mungu wa utaratibu. Hata katikati ya wanasiasa wabaya na sheria zilizotumiwa vibaya bado kuna hali ya utaratibu ndani yao ambayo imewekwa na Mungu. Je! Hii inamaanisha kwamba maafisa wote wa kisiasa au wakubwa wameridhiwa na Mungu? Bila shaka hapana. Lakini agizo ambalo mfumo huunda iwe katika siasa au biashara imeridhiwa na Mungu.

Tunapaswa kuwaombea wale walio katika nafasi za mamlaka. Naomba tufanye hivyo kila siku! Hatupaswi kukubaliana na sera au matendo yao, lakini tunapaswa kutambua ofisi ambayo wanayo ni sehemu ya mpango mkubwa wa Mungu wa kudumisha utulivu katika ulimwengu wetu.

Mpendwa Bwana, tunakushukuru kwamba Wewe ni Mungu wa utaratibu na sio wa machafuko. Tunakushukuru kwamba jamii nyingi ulimwenguni zinategemea sheria ambazo ulitekeleza katika Neno lako. Tunakushukuru kwamba wewe ni Mungu mwenye nguvu na mwenye haki. Kwamba wewe ni Mungu wa Utatu ambaye hajachukua tu umbo la kibinadamu, lakini kwamba Roho wako anaendelea kusonga na kukaa kati yetu. Tusaidie kukumbuka zaidi ufunuo wako wote kwetu ili tupate vifaa vya kukutumikia.

L'armée égyptienne avait les enfants d'Israël contre la mer Rouge sans aucun moyen visible de s'échapper. Même après tous les miracles et fléaux que Dieu avait accomplis, les esclaves en fuite ressentaient le désespoir de leur situation. Ce thème se poursuit à travers les livres de l'Exode, du Lévitique et des Nombres.

Combien de fois retombe-t-on dans notre vieille routine ? Nous avons vu Dieu faire des choses grandes et puissantes, mais pourtant nous avons si peu de foi dans la situation dans laquelle nous nous trouvons aujourd'hui ?

Ou, pire encore, nous nous battons contre nous et essayons de nous battre avec nos propres forces et nos propres forces. Depuis le début, la bataille est celle du Seigneur, pas la nôtre. Nous disons de notre bouche que nous nous abandonnons à la Seigneurie de Jésus-Christ, mais dans nos actions, nous reprenons continuellement les choses que nous devrions laisser mentir et nous entrons dans des batailles qui ont déjà été menées et gagnées. Peut-être que nous sortons de notre foi et essayons de porter tout le fardeau sans même penser à la façon dont Jésus est là pour porter ce fardeau pour nous. Nous pensons que nous devons faire quelque chose. Alors qu'en réalité, ce que nous devons faire, c'est être tranquille et laisser Dieu travailler.

Il y a des moments où il faut entrer dans la mêlée. Il y a des moments où nous devons être tranquilles. Dans les deux cas, nous devons savoir et réaliser - vraiment savoir et vraiment réaliser - que Dieu se bat toujours pour nous et que nous ne sommes pas seuls.

Prière

Cher Seigneur, nous te remercions car tu es notre force et notre bouclier. Tu es celui qui ne dort ni ne sommeille, mais qui veille sur nous. Aide-nous à savoir que tu es toujours là pour nous. Que tu es celui qui nous protège et nous guide. Vous êtes celui qui sait ce dont nous avons besoin avant nous. Puissions-nous faire confiance à Toi et à Ta volonté parfaite et à ton timing en toutes choses.

Exodus 14:14

14The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

The Egyptian army had the Children of Israel up against the Red Sea with no visible means of escape.  Even after all the miracles and plagues that God had performed, the escaping slaves felt despair at their situation.  This theme continues through the books of Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers.  

How many times do we fall back into our same old routine?  We have seen God do great and mighty things, but yet we have so little faith about the situation that we find ourselves in today?

Or, worse yet, we take up the battle against us and try to fight with our own strength and our own might.  All along, the battle is the Lord’s, not ours.  We say with our mouths that we surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, yet in our actions we continually take up the things that we should let lie and we go into battles that have already been fought and won.  Perhaps, we step outside our faith and attempt to carry the full burden without even thinking about how Jesus is there to carry that burden for us.  We think that we have to do something.  When in reality what we must do is be still and let God work.

There are times when we must go into the fray.  There are times when we must be still.  In either case, we must know and realize -- really know and really realize -- that God is always fighting for us and that we are not alone.

Prayer

Dear Lord, we thank You that You are our strength and our shield.  You are the one who neither sleeps nor slumbers, but watches over us.  Help us to know that You are always there for us.  That You are the one who protects and guides us.  You are the one who knows what we need before we do.  May we trust You and Your perfect will and timing in all things.

Au, mbaya zaidi, tunachukua vita dhidi yetu na kujaribu kupigana kwa nguvu zetu wenyewe na kwa nguvu zetu wenyewe. Wakati wote, vita ni vya Bwana, sio vyetu. Tunasema kwa vinywa vyetu kwamba tunajisalimisha kwa Uweza wa Yesu Kristo, lakini kwa matendo yetu sisi huendelea kuchukua vitu ambavyo tunapaswa kuacha uwongo na tunaenda kwenye vita ambavyo tayari vimepiganwa na kushinda. Wakati kwa kweli kile tunachopaswa kufanya ni kuwa kimya na kumruhusu Mungu afanye kazi.

Kuna wakati lazima tuingie kwenye mgongano. Kuna wakati lazima tuwe tuli. Kwa hali yoyote ile, lazima tujue na tutambue - tujue kweli na tutambue kweli - kwamba Mungu daima anatupigania na kwamba hatuko peke yetu.

Mpendwa Bwana, tunakushukuru kwa kuwa Wewe ni nguvu na ngao yetu. Wewe ndiye usiyelala wala kusinzia, lakini unatuangalia. Tusaidie kujua kwamba Wewe uko kila wakati kwa ajili yetu. Kwamba Wewe ndiye unayetulinda na kutuongoza. Wewe ndiye unajua kile tunachohitaji kabla ya kufanya. Tukuamini wewe na mapenzi yako kamili na wakati katika vitu vyote.

2 Corinthiens 4:11

11Car nous qui vivons, nous sommes sans cesse livrés à la mort à cause de Jésus, pour que la vie de Jésus aussi se manifeste dans notre chair mortelle.

En tant que chrétiens, notre vie ne nous appartient pas. Nous avons été achetés et payés avec un prix. De même, notre corps terrestre n'est pas censé être éternel. Notre fonction ici sur terre est de répandre le Message de l'Evangile et de faire des disciples. Pourtant, notre objectif final est d'être en présence de notre Seigneur et Sauveur dans sa louange éternelle. Nous ferons face à des maladies, des épreuves et des épreuves dans cette vie. Mais à travers ces maladies, épreuves et épreuves, nous devons toujours nous rappeler que ce n'est pas notre maison. Ce n'est pas notre objectif. Nous vivons nos vies afin d'indiquer, de témoigner et de glorifier Celui qui nous a libérés du péché et de la mort. Nous vivons à travers ce monde afin d'être un témoin de Lui.

Prière

Cher Seigneur, nous te remercions que peu importe ce qui nous assaille dans ce monde, ce n'est rien en comparaison d'être en ta présence pour l'éternité. Puissions-nous garder nos yeux sur où nous allons à cause de Votre amour et Votre grâce et Votre salut. Puissions-nous voir les choses que nous traversons comme de nouvelles façons de te glorifier et de t'exalter dans nos vies.

2 Corinthians 4:11

11For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.

As Christians, our life is not our own.  We have been bought and paid for with a price. So too, our earthly body is not meant to be eternal.  Our function here on earth is to spread the Gospel Message and make disciples.  Yet our end goal is to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior in eternal praise of Him.  We will face maladies, hardships, and trials in this life.  But through those maladies, hardships, and trials, we are to always remember that this is not our home.  This is not our goal.  We live our lives in order to point to, witness to, and glorify the One who has set us free from sin and death.  We live through this world in order to be a witness of Him.

Prayer

Dear Lord, we thank you that no matter what assails us in this world it is nothing in comparison to being in your presence for eternity.  May we keep our eyes on where we are going because of Your love and Your grace and Your salvation.  May we see the things that we go through as new ways to glorify and exalt You in our lives.

2 Wakorintho 4:11

11Kwa maana sisi tulio hai siku zote tumetolewa tufe kwa ajili ya Yesu, ili kwamba uzima wake upate kudhihirishwa katika mwili wetu upatikanao na mauti.

Kama Wakristo, maisha yetu sio yetu wenyewe. Tumenunuliwa na kulipwa kwa bei. Vivyo hivyo, mwili wetu wa kidunia haukukusudiwa kuwa wa milele. Kazi yetu hapa duniani ni kueneza Ujumbe wa Injili na kufanya wanafunzi. Walakini lengo letu la mwisho ni kuwa mbele ya Bwana na Mwokozi wetu katika sifa ya milele kwake. Tutakabiliwa na magonjwa, shida, na majaribu katika maisha haya. Lakini kupitia magonjwa hayo, shida, na majaribu, tunapaswa kukumbuka kila wakati kuwa hii sio nyumba yetu. Hili sio lengo letu. Tunaishi maisha yetu ili kumwonyesha, kumshuhudia, na kumtukuza Yule ambaye ametuweka huru kutoka kwa dhambi na mauti. Tunaishi kupitia ulimwengu huu ili kuwa shahidi Wake.

Apocalypse 22:20

20Celui qui atteste ces choses dit: Oui, je viens bientôt. Amen! Viens, Seigneur Jésus!

Les dernières lignes de l'Apocalypse de Jean enregistrent une promesse de Jésus à ses disciples : « Je viens bientôt. La seconde venue de Jésus est quelque chose qui a fait l'objet d'une grande spéculation au cours des deux mille dernières années. Chaque génération a ses précurseurs qui ont fixé la date de ce grand événement. Aucun de ces pronostics ne s'est réalisé.

Que signifie « bientôt » pour un Dieu éternel ? Puisque Dieu vit en dehors de notre idée du temps, qu'est-ce que cela signifie ? Je pense qu'on met trop l'accent sur le mot "bientôt" et pas assez sur les mots "je viens sûrement".

Ne fais pas d'erreur. Jésus reviendra. Il n'y aura aucun doute quand cela arrivera. L'Ancien Testament et le Nouveau Testament nous disent tous deux que le Jugement de Dieu à la fin des temps sera quelque chose que nous connaîtrons et reconnaîtrons tous pour ce qu'il est. Ce jour viendra où tout genou fléchira et toute langue confessera que Jésus-Christ est Seigneur. Il y aura un grand jugement avec tout le monde recevant les récompenses de leurs décisions. Il y aura ceux qui seront trouvés dignes et ceux qui seront trouvés indignes.

Jusqu'à ce que ce moment vienne, nous devons continuer à vivre notre vie comme Dieu voudrait que nous le fassions. Nous avons les enseignements et les exemples de Jésus pour être notre guide. Nous avons les enseignements dans l'Ancien et le Nouveau Testament. Nous devons nous enraciner dans ces enseignements par la lecture et l'étude continuelles de la Bible.

Les disciples de Jésus n'ont pas besoin de passer notre temps à chercher des formules ou des significations « cachées » pour calculer quand Jésus reviendra. Nous n'avons pas besoin de rechercher ceux qui ont une compréhension « plus profonde » de la façon dont les derniers jours se produiront. Nous n'avons pas besoin de vendre tout ce que nous avons et d'aller nous rassembler au sommet des collines en attendant que Jésus vienne. Nous ne pouvons pas accélérer le retour de Jésus par nos actions ou nos paroles.

Comme indiqué à la fois dans Marc (chapitre 13) et dans Matthieu (chapitre 24), personne ne connaît l'heure du retour de Jésus, sauf Dieu le Père. Aucun humain ne peut calculer le jour. Le faire est impossible. De plus, Dieu ne dira à personne quand ce jour viendra. Alors, méfiez-vous de ceux qui vous disent que Dieu leur a dit quand cela arrivera - car personne ne le sait - pas les anges, pas même Dieu le Fils !

Le fait est que Jésus reviendra. Quand il le fera, il siégera et jugera avec justice. Il est de notre responsabilité de partager le Message de l'Evangile avec le monde jusqu'à ce que nous soyons appelés à la maison.

Prière

Dieu de l'univers, merci d'avoir fixé dans ta sagesse l'heure et la date de la fin des jours tels que nous les connaissons. Aide-nous à diffuser le message du salut à tous ceux avec qui nous sommes en contact. Aide-nous à savoir que tu détiens l'avenir et qu'en tant que croyants en Christ tu es tenu dans la paume de ta main. Puissions-nous être trouvés fidèles lorsque viendra le jour du jugement.

Revelation 22:20

20He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!

The final lines of the Apocalypse of John records a promise from Jesus to His followers, “I am coming soon.”  The Second Coming of Jesus is something that has been the subject of great speculation for the past two thousand years.  Each generation has its foretellers who have pinpointed the date of this great event.  None of these prognostications have come to pass.

What does “soon” mean to an eternal God?  Since God lives outside of our idea of time, what does it mean?  I think that too much emphasis is placed on the word “soon” and not enough on the words, “surely I am coming.”  

Make no mistake.  Jesus will come again.  There will be no doubt when it happens.  Both the Old Testament and the New Testament tell us that the Judgement of God at the end of time will be something we will all know and recognize for what it is.  That day will come when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  There will be a great judgement with everyone receiving the rewards of their decisions.  There will be those who will be found worthy and those who will be found unworthy.

Until that time comes, we are to continue living our lives as God would have us do.  We have the teachings and examples of Jesus to be our guide.  We have the teachings in both the Old and New Testaments.  We are to ground ourselves in these teachings through the continual reading and study of the Bible.

Followers of Jesus do not need to spend our time searching for formulas or “hidden” meanings to calculate when Jesus will return.  We do not need to seek out those who have a “deeper” understanding of how the last days will come about.  We do not need to sell all that we have and go gather on hilltops waiting for Jesus to come.  We cannot speed the return of Jesus by our actions or words.

As recorded in both Mark (chapter 13)  and Matthew (chapter 24), no one knows the hour when Jesus will return except God the Father.  There is no way that any human can calculate the day.  Doing so is impossible.  Also, God is not going to tell anyone when that day will come.  So, beware of those who tell you that God told them when it will happen -- for no one knows - not the angels, not even God the Son!

The point is that Jesus will come again.  When He does, He will sit and judge in righteousness.  It is our responsibility to share the Gospel Message with the world until we are called home.

Prayer

God of the universe, thank You that in Your wisdom You have set the time and date for the end of days as we know them.  Help us to spread the message of salvation to all we come in contact with.  Help us to know that You hold the future and that as believers in Christ are kept in the palm of Your hand.  May we be found faithful when the day of judgement comes.

20Yeye anayeshuhudia mambo haya asema, “Hakika, naja upesi!”

Amen. Njoo, Bwana Yesu.

Mistari ya mwisho ya Apocalypse of John inarekodi ahadi kutoka kwa Yesu kwa wafuasi Wake, "Ninakuja hivi karibuni." Kuja kwa Yesu Mara ya Pili ni jambo ambalo limekuwa mada ya uvumi mkubwa kwa miaka elfu mbili iliyopita. Kila kizazi kina watabiri wake ambao wameashiria tarehe ya tukio hili kubwa. Hakuna hata moja ya utabiri huu ambao umetimia.

Je! "Hivi karibuni" inamaanisha nini kwa Mungu wa milele? Kwa kuwa Mungu anaishi nje ya wazo letu la wakati, inamaanisha nini? Nadhani msisitizo mwingi umewekwa kwenye neno "hivi karibuni" na haitoshi kwa maneno, "hakika ninakuja."

Usifanye makosa. Yesu atakuja tena. Hakutakuwa na shaka wakati itatokea. Agano la Kale na Agano Jipya zinatuambia kwamba Hukumu ya Mungu mwishoni mwa wakati itakuwa kitu ambacho sisi sote tutajua na kutambua kwa nini ni. Siku hiyo itakuja ambapo kila goti litainama na kila ulimi utakiri kwamba Yesu Kristo ni Bwana. Kutakuwa na uamuzi mzuri na kila mtu atapata thawabu za maamuzi yake. Kutakuwa na watakaopatikana watastahili na wale watakaopatikana kuwa hawafai.

Mpaka wakati huo ufike, tunapaswa kuendelea kuishi maisha yetu kama vile Mungu angependa tufanye. Tunayo mafundisho na mifano ya Yesu kuwa kiongozi wetu. Tunayo mafundisho katika Agano la Kale na Jipya. Tunapaswa kujiweka chini katika mafundisho haya kupitia usomaji endelevu wa Biblia.

Wafuasi wa Yesu hawaitaji kutumia wakati wetu kutafuta njia au maana "zilizofichwa" kuhesabu ni lini Yesu atarudi. Hatuna haja ya kutafuta wale ambao wana "uelewa zaidi" wa jinsi siku za mwisho zitakavyokuja. Hatuna haja ya kuuza yote tuliyonayo na kwenda kukusanyika juu ya vilima tukingojea Yesu aje. Hatuwezi kuharakisha kurudi kwa Yesu kwa matendo au maneno yetu.

Kama ilivyoandikwa katika Marko (sura ya 13) na Mathayo (sura ya 24), hakuna anayejua saa ambayo Yesu atarudi isipokuwa Mungu Baba. Hakuna njia ambayo mwanadamu yeyote anaweza kuhesabu siku. Kufanya hivyo haiwezekani. Pia, Mungu hataambia mtu yeyote siku hiyo itafika lini. Kwa hivyo, jihadharini na wale wanaokuambia kwamba Mungu aliwaambia lini itatokea - kwani hakuna anayejua - sio malaika, hata Mungu Mwana!

Jambo ni kwamba Yesu atakuja tena. Atakapofanya hivyo, atakaa na kuhukumu kwa haki. Ni jukumu letu kushiriki Ujumbe wa Injili na ulimwengu hadi tuitwe nyumbani.

Mungu wa ulimwengu, asante kwamba kwa hekima yako umeweka wakati na tarehe ya mwisho wa siku kama tunavyozijua. Tusaidie kueneza ujumbe wa wokovu kwa wote tunaowasiliana nao. Tusaidie kujua kwamba unashikilia siku za usoni na kwamba kama waumini wa Kristo wamehifadhiwa katika kiganja cha mkono wako. Tupatikane waaminifu siku ya hukumu itakapofika.

25Rejetez donc le mensonge, et que chacun de vous parle avec vérité à son prochain ; car nous faisons partie les uns des autres. 

L'altruisme est l'un des principes clés du christianisme. Nous devons vivre en paix avec nos voisins. Nous devons aimer nos voisins comme nous-mêmes. Les deux nécessitent d'être honnêtes et ouverts les uns envers les autres.

Dans notre vie quotidienne, nous devons vivre comme des gens honnêtes. En effet, notre quotidien est rempli de la confiance que nous nous accordons. Nous nous faisons confiance pour respecter les lois régissant les routes. Nous nous faisons confiance pour échanger du travail contre un salaire équitable. Nous nous faisons confiance pour échanger de l'argent contre de la bonne nourriture sur le marché. Nous espérons que les poids et mesures indiqués sur l'emballage sont corrects. Nous espérons que dans la plupart des cas, nous serons traités équitablement par les autres.

Les mensonges et la tromperie détruisent. Ce sont les petites coupures sur un morceau de tissu tissé qui ruinent tout le tissu. Si vous avez un morceau de tissu bien tissé, tous les fils ont été entrelacés de manière à ajouter de la résistance, de la stabilité et de la durabilité à l'article final produit. Dans l'ensemble, le tissu est capable de résister à de nombreuses choses tout en remplissant sa fonction. Si un brin est coupé, il gâche l'apparence du tissu. Si plusieurs brins sont coupés dans la même zone, cela produit un trou. Si différents brins provenant de différentes zones du tissu sont coupés, cela détruit l'utilité du tissu. Il peut être utilisé comme chiffon pendant un certain temps jusqu'à ce que tout le tissu soit complètement inutile.

L'honnêteté commence par ce que nous nous disons. Cela continue avec ce que nous disons aux autres. En toute honnêteté, nous devrons peut-être être directs à certains moments et doux à d'autres moments, mais nous devons être honnêtes à tout moment.

Prière

Dieu de vérité, aide-nous à être honnêtes avec nous-mêmes et avec les autres. Que notre honnêteté soit avec l'esprit d'amour, pas de mal. Puissions-nous dire la vérité dans le but de vous glorifier et d'indiquer votre perfection. Aide-nous à être Tes témoins en vivant la Vérité que nous pouvons apprendre davantage dans Ta Parole.

Ephesians 4:25

25Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. 

Selflessness is one of the key tenets of Christianity.  We are to live in peace with our neighbors.  We are to love our neighbors as ourselves.  Both of these require being honest and open with one another.

In our daily lives we are to live as honest people.  Indeed, our daily lives are filled with the trust we put in each other.  We trust each other to obey the laws governing the roadways.  We trust each other that we will exchange work for a fair wage.  We trust each other that we will exchange money for good food in the market.  We trust that the weights and measures listed on packaging are correct.  We trust that in most cases we will be treated fairly by others.

Lies and deceit destroy.  They are the little snips to a woven piece of cloth that cause the whole cloth to be ruined.  If you have a nicely woven piece of fabric all the threads have been intertwined in such a way to add strength, stability, and durability to the final article produced.  As a whole, the fabric is able to withstand many things and still carry out its function.  If one strand is cut it mars the appearance of the fabric.  If multiple strands are cut in the same area, it produces a hole.  If different strands from different areas of the fabric are cut it destroys the utility of the fabric.  It can be used as a rag for a period of time until the whole of the cloth is completely useless.

Honesty starts with what we tell ourselves.  It continues with what we tell others.  In our honesty, we may need to be blunt at times as well as be gentle at other times - but we must be honest at all times.

Prayer

God of Truth, help us to be honest with ourselves and with others.  May our honesty be with the spirit of love, not harm.  May we speak the Truth with the purpose of glorifying You and pointing to Your Perfection.  Help us to be Your witnesses by living the Truth that we can learn more of in Your Word.

Waefeso 4:25

25Kwa hiyo kila mmoja wenu avue uongo na kuambiana kweli mtu na jirani yake, kwa maana sisi sote tu viungo vya mwili mmoja.

Kujitolea ni moja ya kanuni kuu za Ukristo. Tunapaswa kuishi kwa amani na majirani zetu. Tunapaswa kuwapenda majirani zetu kama sisi wenyewe. Zote hizi zinahitaji kuwa waaminifu na wazi kwa kila mmoja.

Katika maisha yetu ya kila siku tunapaswa kuishi kama watu waaminifu. Hakika, maisha yetu ya kila siku yamejazwa na uaminifu ambao tunawekeana. Tunaaminiana kutii sheria zinazosimamia barabara. Tunaaminiana kwamba tutabadilishana kazi kwa mshahara wa haki. Tunaaminiana kwamba tutabadilishana pesa kwa chakula kizuri sokoni. Tunaamini kuwa uzani na hatua zilizoorodheshwa kwenye ufungaji ni sahihi. Tunaamini kwamba katika hali nyingi tutatendewa haki na wengine.

Uongo na udanganyifu huharibu. Ni vipande vidogo kwenye kitambaa kilichosokotwa ambacho husababisha kitambaa chote kiharibike. Ikiwa una kitambaa kilichosokotwa vizuri nyuzi zote zimeunganishwa kwa njia ya kuongeza nguvu, utulivu, na uimara kwa nakala ya mwisho iliyozalishwa. Kwa ujumla, kitambaa kinaweza kuhimili vitu vingi na bado hufanya kazi yake. Ikiwa strand moja imekatwa inaharibu kuonekana kwa kitambaa. Ikiwa nyuzi nyingi zimekatwa katika eneo moja, hutoa shimo. Ikiwa vipande tofauti kutoka kwa sehemu tofauti za kitambaa hukatwa huharibu matumizi ya kitambaa. Inaweza kutumika kama rag kwa kipindi cha muda hadi kitambaa kizima kisichofaa kabisa.

Uaminifu huanza na kile tunachojiambia. Inaendelea na kile tunachowaambia wengine. Kwa uaminifu wetu, tunaweza kuhitaji kuwa wakweli wakati mwingine na pia kuwa wapole wakati mwingine - lakini lazima tuwe waaminifu wakati wote.

Maombi

Mungu wa Ukweli, tusaidie kuwa waaminifu kwa sisi wenyewe na kwa wengine. Uaminifu wetu uwe na roho ya upendo, sio mbaya. Naomba tuseme Ukweli kwa kusudi la kukutukuza na kuashiria Ukamilifu Wako. Tusaidie kuwa mashahidi Wako kwa kuishi Ukweli ambao tunaweza kujifunza zaidi katika Neno lako.

14Mets ton espérance dans le SEIGNEUR! Sois fort, que ton cœur soit courageux! Mets ton espérance dans le SEIGNEUR!

Nous vivons dans le monde de l'urgence. Nous voulons des choses maintenant. Même lorsque nous regardons des vidéos en ligne, nous sommes ennuyés par les publicités de cinq secondes qui apparaissent. Un ami vient de me montrer que WhatsApp a maintenant une fonctionnalité pour doubler le débit d'un message vocal. Sommes-nous impatients de devoir accélérer un message vocal de 15 ou 20 secondes ?

Plus encore, nous sommes impatients que Dieu « fasse quelque chose » dans nos vies. Doit-on s'attendre à ce qu'il se passe quelque chose ? Bien sûr. Mais nous devons aussi nous arrêter et prendre en compte toutes les choses que Dieu a faites et fait dans nos vies.

Nous devons également nous arrêter et rester immobiles. L'une des pratiques que j'aime dans le yoga est d'être immobile et de vider l'esprit. Arrêt intentionnel. Mettre intentionnellement de côté tout le bruit de nos vies. Je me concentre sur ma respiration. Puis, ressentir l'émerveillement complet de la façon dont Dieu m'a créé. Le pourcentage d'oxygène dans l'air. Cet air est pris dans mes poumons où mes poumons capturent l'oxygène et libèrent du dioxyde de carbone. Comment l'oxygène est absorbé par les globules rouges et utilisé comme carburant dans tout mon corps. Impressionnant !

Dieu est toujours proche. Nous avons juste besoin de nous arrêter et de le reconnaître.

Père céleste, merci pour ta patience avec nous. Puissions-nous apprendre la discipline spirituelle de la patience.

Psalm 27:14

14Wait for the LORD;

be strong, and let your heart take courage;

wait for the LORD!

We live in the world of the urgent.  We want things now.  Even when watching videos online we get annoyed with the five-second commercials that pop up.  A friend just showed me that WhatsApp now has a feature to double the rate of a voice message.  How impatient are we that we must speed up a 15 or 20 second voice message?

Even more so, we are impatient for God to “do something” in our lives.  Should we be expecting something to happen?  Of course.  But we also need to just stop and take an accounting of all the things that God has done and is doing in our lives.  

We also need to just stop and be still.  One of the practices that I like about yoga is being still and clearing the mind.  Intentionally stopping.  Intentionally putting away all the noise in our lives.  Focusing on my breathing.  Then, feeling the complete wonder of how God created me.  The percentage of oxygen in the air.  That air being taken into my lungs where my lungs capture the oxygen and release carbon dioxide.  How the oxygen is absorbed by the red blood cells and taken as fuel all throughout my body.  Awesomeness!

God is always near.  We just need to stop and recognize it.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your patience with us.  May we learn the spiritual discipline of patience.

Zaburi 27:14

14Mngojee Bwana,

uwe hodari na mwenye moyo mkuu,

nawe, umngojee Bwana.

Tunaishi katika ulimwengu wa haraka. Tunataka vitu sasa. Hata wakati wa kutazama video mkondoni tunakasirika na matangazo ya sekunde tano ambayo yanajitokeza. Rafiki alinionyesha tu kwamba WhatsApp sasa ina huduma ya kuongeza maradufu kiwango cha ujumbe wa sauti. Tuna subira kiasi gani kwamba lazima tuharakishe ujumbe wa sauti wa sekunde 15 au 20?

Hata zaidi, hatuna subira kwa Mungu "kufanya kitu" katika maisha yetu. Je! Tunapaswa kutarajia kitu kitatokea? Bila shaka. Lakini pia tunahitaji kusimama tu na kuchukua hesabu ya mambo yote ambayo Mungu amefanya na anafanya katika maisha yetu.

Tunahitaji pia kusimama na kutulia. Moja ya mazoea ambayo napenda kuhusu yoga ni kuwa kimya na kusafisha akili. Kuacha kwa makusudi. Kwa makusudi kuweka kelele zote katika maisha yetu. Kuzingatia kupumua kwangu. Halafu, nikisikia mshangao kamili wa jinsi Mungu aliniumba. Asilimia ya oksijeni hewani. Hewa hiyo ikichukuliwa kwenye mapafu yangu ambapo mapafu yangu hukamata oksijeni na kutoa kaboni dioksidi. Jinsi oksijeni inavyoingizwa na seli nyekundu za damu na huchukuliwa kama mafuta katika mwili wangu wote. Kushangaza!

Mungu yuko karibu kila wakati. Tunahitaji tu kusimama na kuitambua.
