One of the awesome things of God in the life of Christians is that we have the Holy Spirit within us. God knows us intimately. The Holy Spirit is within us and helps us in our daily lives.
Feelings and emotions often cannot be described. They have to be experienced. There are feelings of great joy and great sorrow that are simply beyond our ability to express in words. The great thing about being a born-again believer is that the Holy Spirit becomes a part of us and experiences these feelings and emotions. Further, God is the author of who we are. God created us - in His image. At some point we must be a reflection of the feelings and emotions that God has - even if it is only a slim shadow.
When we commune with God we do not always have to use words. We do not even have to speak out loud. Because we have asked the Holy Spirit to come into our hearts and because we have submitted to the lordship of Jesus Christ, we have the ability to express ourselves directly to God. God understands us. God knows us. God gets us.
Prayer
Oh Mighty God, thank You that You know us. Thank You that You send Your Spirit to help us in those times when we cannot find the words to express ourselves. We know that You understand even if we cannot encapsulate what we feel or think. Thank You for listening to us and being with us.

Jésus s'est assuré que ses disciples savaient que chacun d'eux était important et même parmi le cercle intérieur, il n'y avait pas une autorité finale. Notre principal conseiller devrait être Dieu. Quand vient le temps de prendre une décision importante, nous devons la prendre dans la prière au Seigneur. Si vous êtes marié, toute décision que vous prenez n'affecte pas seulement vous, mais votre conjoint. Vous devez en parler à votre conjoint et vous priez tous les deux à ce sujet. There is a model of church leadership that is very bad - the authoritarian pastor model. Of course, the pastors and leaders who use this model do not call it by that name. It is where the pastor makes all of the decisions of the church. The entire church is built around his or her personality. All decisions are approved and finalized by only the pastor.
This type of church leadership leads to only one way of thinking -- the way that the pastor thinks. If anyone has another idea or way of thinking they are either completely ignored or strongly encouraged to find another church.
Very rarely do we find this style of leadership actually working in the Bible. What we do find very often is that this style of leadership leads to major problems many, many times in the Bible. Moses took counsel with his father-in-law, his brother, and his sister. One of the roles of a court prophet was to give wise counsel to the kings. Jesus made sure that his disciples knew that each of them was important and even among the inner circle there was not one final authority. We see the examples of Nathan confronting David. We see Paul confronting Peter. We see the disciples meeting together to appoint deacons. Most of Paul’s letters are written to the leaders (plural) of the church in the city or region to which they are addressed.
Our major adviser should be God. When the time comes for a major decision to be made, we need to take it in prayer to The Lord. If you are married any decision that you make affects not only you but your spouse. You need to talk to your spouse about it and both of you pray about it. If you have children any decision you make affects them as well.
What is your process in making decisions? As Christians, we should first consider if it is in the will of God that we do this. Second, we need to pray for wisdom in the situation. Third, we need to seek the advice of other Christians that we trust and have proven faithful in the past. Fourth, if there seem to be areas of discord around the decision, we need to address those issues - not simply ignore them. Fifth, listen to hear the answer of God. If God is silent, in my experience, that is a quiet “NO” from God. If God answers “YES” you will definitely see things open as well as have a feeling of peace - not only you but the others affected by the decision. If God answers in a loud “NO” then the answer is no.
Part of being a Christian is knowing that we are part of something that is greater than we are. We are The Church. What we do and say affects not only us but the entire fellowship of believers. Non-believers watch us - some more closely than others. We must read our Bibles, pray, and as Paul emphasizes in Ephesians, submit ourselves one to another in order to truly glorify God.
Prayer
Father, help us to always put You first in our decision-making process. Help us to be wise and to seek wise counsel. Attune our hearts and our ears to what You would have us to do. Help us to realize and understand that our decisions affect not just ourselves but many others as well. Help us to live in accord with others and to humbly seek to lead and make good decisions.
Kuna mfano wa uongozi wa kanisa ambao ni mbaya sana - mfano wa mchungaji wa kimabavu. Kwa kweli, wachungaji na viongozi wanaotumia mtindo huu hawauiti kwa jina hilo. Dieu se souvient de tous les moineaux. Le sens ici est que même les oiseaux petits et insignifiants sont connus de Dieu. Dans Matthieu 6, Jésus utilise à nouveau les oiseaux des champs pour illustrer que si Dieu prend soin d'eux, combien plus prendra-t-il soin de ses propres enfants ?
Dieu vous connaît. Dieu connaît vos défauts. Dieu veut toujours que vous soyez en communion avec Lui. Vous devez décider si vous voulez vivre dans la peur ou la paix. Si vous voulez passer l'éternité séparé de l'amour de Dieu ou la passer dans son amour.
J'ai pris la décision il y a longtemps que je voulais vivre dans la paix et l'amour de Dieu.
Prière
Dieu de la Création, merci de me connaître. Tu veilles sur moi et tu me gardes. Esprit Saint, merci d'habiter en moi et de me réconforter. Merci d'avoir créé un moyen pour que je sois en communion avec toi. Pour que je connaisse la vraie paix et le vrai amour.
God knows who you are. You cannot be anonymous. God knows you. Even more, God wants you to have a relationship with Him.
These encouraging words from Jesus are spoken to warn us against the wiles of the devil- the one who wants to destroy more than just the body. We are not to be fearful of things that can only temporarily harm us. We are to be on guard against those things that can put us into eternal peril.
Before we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, there is the peril of falling under the influence of the devil and being forever separated from God. Once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are brought into fellowship with God. We become the property of God. Not only that, but we become beloved children of God.
God remembers all of the sparrows. The meaning here is that even the small and insignificant birds are known of by God. In Matthew 6 Jesus again uses the birds of the field to illustrate that if God takes care of them, how much more will He take care of his own children?
God knows you. God knows your faults. God still wants you to have fellowship with Him. You have to make the decision if you want to live in fear or peace. If you want to spend eternity separated from the love of God or spend it in His love.
I made the decision long ago that I wanted to live within the peace and love of God.
Prayer
God of Creation, thank You that You know me. You watch over me and keep me. Holy Spirit thank You for dwelling within me and comforting me. Thank You that You created a way that I may be in fellowship with You. That I may know true peace and true love.

Nilifanya uamuzi zamani kwamba nilitaka kuishi ndani ya amani na upendo wa Mungu.

Mungu wa Uumbaji, asante kwa kuwa unanijua. Unaniangalia na unaniweka. Roho Mtakatifu asante kwa kukaa ndani yangu na kunifariji. Asante kwamba uliunda njia ili niweze kuwa katika ushirika na Wewe. Ili niweze kujua amani ya kweli na upendo wa kweli.

If you are feeling weak and powerless that is ok. We worship a mighty and glorious King who has never and will never be defeated! He takes on the enemy and wins. One day He will determine the hour when time will no longer exist. If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will live eternally in His presence singing His praises.
Our God, and there is none like Him. He is our protector, our shield, our guide, and our savior. All Praise the God Most High!

King of Kings and Lord of Lords, we thank You for your benevolent protection. We know that you fight on our behalf. You protect us, You shield us, and You claim us as your beloved children. Thank You!

Nous devons nous arrêter et faire l'inventaire d'où nous sommes, de ce que nous avons et comment nous sommes arrivés là où nous sommes. En tant que chrétiens qui regardent en arrière, nous devrions clairement voir les temps, les lieux, les personnes et les événements où Dieu est intervenu dans nos vies.
Les dons bons et parfaits viennent de Dieu et de Dieu seul. Dieu est constant. Dieu est Vérité. Dieu est Lumière. En examinant nos vies, nous devrions voir la vérité brillante et éclatante de l'endroit où nous en sommes grâce aux dons bons et parfaits de Dieu.

Prenez le temps dès maintenant d'énumérer toutes les bénédictions de votre vie. Ne vous attardez pas sur les choses négatives ou les « et si ». Concentrez-vous sur vos cadeaux. Concentrez-vous sur vos talents. Concentrez-vous sur tout le bien que vous voyez en ce moment dans votre vie. Ensuite, retracez toutes les bonnes choses que Dieu a faites pour vous au fil des ans. Écrivez-les. Lorsque vous vous sentez triste, seul et déprimé, sortez cette liste et examinez-la.
La réalité est que Dieu vous aime et si vous êtes chrétien, vous êtes son enfant.

When you examine your life, what do you see? Do you look for all the good that has been shown to you? Do you see all the blessings that God has bestowed upon you? Do you see the Grace of God active in your life?
We must stop and take inventory of where we are, what we have, and how we arrived where we are. As Christians looking back, we should clearly see the times, places, people, and events where God has intervened in our lives.
Good and perfect gifts come from God and God alone. God is Constant. God is Truth. God is Light. As we look over our lives we should see the bright and shining Truth of where we are as a result of God’s good and perfect gifts.
Further, when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are adopted as full-fledged children of God. We are expected to live our lives as His possession and property. God gives us talents and gifts. We are to use them to His glory and honor. Whether we are professional ministers or laypersons, we all have the same responsibility to use our gifts and talents to the utmost and glorify God in the process.
Take some time right now to list out all of the blessings in your life. Do not dwell on the negative things or the “what-ifs.” Focus on your gifts. Focus on your talents. Focus on all of the good that you see right now in your life. Then, trace back all the good things that God has done for you over the years. Write them out. When you feel sad, alone, and depressed take this list out and look at it.
The reality is, God loves you and if you are a Christian, you are His child.
Prayer
Dear Father God, thank You that you are with us and that you give us good and perfect gifts that fulfill all of our needs. May we see all of the times You have blessed us. May we acknowledge your Lordship and thank you for your benevolence to us.
Unapochunguza maisha yako, unaona nini? Je! Unatafuta mema yote ambayo umeonyeshwa? Je! Unaona baraka zote ambazo Mungu amekupa? Je! Unaona Neema ya Mungu inafanya kazi katika maisha yako?
Lazima tusimame na kuchukua hesabu ya mahali tulipo, tulicho nacho, na jinsi tulifika mahali tulipo. Kama Wakristo tunaangalia nyuma, tunapaswa kuona wazi nyakati, mahali, watu, na hafla ambazo Mungu ameingilia kati katika maisha yetu.
Zawadi nzuri na kamilifu hutoka kwa Mungu na Mungu peke yake. Mungu ni wa kawaida. Mungu ni Ukweli. Mungu ni Nuru. Tunapoangalia juu ya maisha yetu tunapaswa kuona Ukweli mkali na unaong'aa wa mahali tulipo kama matokeo ya zawadi nzuri na kamilifu za Mungu.
Zaidi ya hayo, tunapomkubali Yesu kama Bwana na Mwokozi wetu tunachukuliwa kama watoto kamili wa Mungu. Tunatarajiwa kuishi maisha yetu kama milki na mali yake. Mungu hutupa talanta na zawadi. Tunapaswa kuzitumia kwa utukufu na heshima yake. Ikiwa sisi ni wahudumu wa kitaalam au wachafu, sisi sote tuna jukumu sawa la kutumia karama na talanta zetu kwa kiwango cha juu na kumtukuza Mungu katika mchakato huo.
Chukua muda sasa kuorodhesha baraka zote maishani mwako. Usifikirie juu ya mambo mabaya au "nini-ikiwa." Zingatia zawadi zako. Zingatia talanta zako. Zingatia mazuri yote unayoyaona sasa katika maisha yako. Kisha, fuatilia mambo yote mazuri ambayo Mungu amekufanyia kwa miaka iliyopita. Waandike. L'un des péchés que nous portons et perpétuons est l'orgueil, ou comme on l'appelle ici, la vanité vaine. Nous sommes dans un monde rongé par l'orgueil. Le contraire de la pièce est l'égoïsme. Les deux nous placent au centre de notre univers.
Il y a une différence entre la fierté et l'orgueil. La fierté peut être tenue dans la reconnaissance des réalisations des autres. L'orgueil de soi n'a aucune reconnaissance des choses au-delà de soi. Les parents, les enseignants, les mentors, les amis et les conjoints peuvent tous être fiers des réalisations des autres lorsqu'ils atteignent leurs objectifs. La fierté de soi gonfle votre poitrine et fait de vous le centre d'attention.
Être humble, c'est reconnaître que je ne suis pas le centre de l'univers. Être humble signifie que je ne suis pas la meilleure chose à naître sur cette terre. Être humble signifie reconnaître la vérité de ma situation. Je suis un pécheur qui a été sauvé par la grâce étonnante de Dieu.
L'humilité signifie que nous reconnaissons que Dieu est Dieu et que nous ne sommes pas des dieux. En tant que chrétien, je reconnais que je suis un homme de défauts. Je n'ai pas toutes les réponses. Je ne mène pas une vie sans péché. Je ne sais pas tout ce qu'il y a à savoir. Ce que je sais, c'est que Dieu est un Dieu formidable qui m'a vu, un pécheur, et qui a voulu être en communion avec moi. La seule façon qui pourrait arriver est que Dieu fasse un chemin. Et il l'a fait! Comment puis-je regarder ce que Dieu a fait pour moi et même entretenir la pensée que je ne peux pas me soumettre à ce qu'il veut que je fasse et que je sois ?
Être humble! Ne pense pas à toi d'abord. Pensez aux autres. Quand j'étais adolescent, l'un des acronymes souvent utilisés dans le ministère des jeunes était JOIE – Jésus, les autres, toi. Lorsque nous réfléchissons à la façon dont nous devons servir, nous servons Jésus d'abord, les autres ensuite, et pensons à nous-mêmes en troisième.
Prière
Cher Seigneur, aide-nous à regarder d'abord et avant tout vers toi afin que nous puissions voir à quel point nous sommes petits par rapport à toi. Puissions-nous suivre l'exemple de Jésus en étant humbles, gentils et généreux. Otez notre orgueil et puissions-nous seulement regarder la croix pour voir à quel point nous sommes indignes de votre amour. Tout ce que nous sommes est à cause de Ta grâce. Je vous remercie!
One of the sins that we carry and perpetuate is self-pride, or as it is called here, vain conceit. We are in a world that is consumed by self-pride. The opposite of the coin is selfishness. Both put us in the center of our universe.
There is a difference between pride and self-pride. Pride can be held in the recognition of accomplishments of others. Self-pride has no recognition of things beyond the self. Parents, teachers, mentors, friends, and spouses can all take pride in the accomplishments of others when they attain goals. Self-pride is puffing up your chest and making yourself the center of attention.
Being humble means recognizing that I am not the center of the universe. Being humble means that I am not the best thing to be born on this earth. Being humble means acknowledging the truth of my situation. I am a sinner who has been saved by God’s amazing grace.
Humility means that we recognize that God is God and that we are not gods. As a Christian, I recognize that I am a man of faults. I do not have all the answers. I do not lead a sinless life. I do not know everything there is to know. What I do know is that God is an awesome God who saw me, a sinner, and wanted to have fellowship with me. The only way that could happen is for God to make a way. And He did! How can I look at what God did for me and even entertain the thought that I cannot submit to what He wants me to do and be?
Be humble! Do not think of yourself first. Think of others. When I was a teenager one of the acronyms that was often used in youth ministry was JOY -- Jesus, Others, You. When we are thinking about how we are to serve we serve Jesus first, others second, and think of ourselves third.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help us to look to You first and foremost that we may see how small we are compared to You. May we follow the example of Jesus in being humble, kind, and generous. Take our pride away and may we only look upon the cross to see how unworthy we are of Your love. All that we are is because of Your grace. Thank You!
Moja ya dhambi ambazo sisi hubeba na kuendeleza ni kujivuna, au kama inavyoitwa hapa, majivuno ya bure. Tuko katika ulimwengu ambao unatumiwa na kiburi. Kinyume cha sarafu ni ubinafsi. Zote mbili zinatuweka katikati ya ulimwengu wetu.
Kuna tofauti kati ya kiburi na kujivuna. Kiburi kinaweza kushikiliwa katika kutambua mafanikio ya wengine. Kiburi cha kibinafsi hakitambui vitu zaidi ya nafsi yako. Wazazi, waalimu, washauri, marafiki, na wenzi wa ndoa wote wanaweza kujivunia mafanikio ya wengine wanapofikia malengo. Kiburi ni kujivuna kifua chako na kujifanya kituo cha umakini.
Kuwa mnyenyekevu kunamaanisha kutambua kwamba mimi sio kituo cha ulimwengu. Kuwa mnyenyekevu inamaanisha kuwa mimi sio kitu bora kuzaliwa hapa duniani. Kuwa mnyenyekevu kunamaanisha kukubali ukweli wa hali yangu. Mimi ni mwenye dhambi ambaye nimeokolewa na neema ya ajabu ya Mungu.
Unyenyekevu inamaanisha kwamba tunatambua kwamba Mungu ni Mungu na kwamba sisi sio miungu. Kama Mkristo, ninatambua kuwa mimi ni mtu wa makosa. Sina majibu yote. Siishi maisha yasiyo na dhambi. Sijui kila kitu kuna kujua. Ninachojua ni kwamba Mungu ni Mungu wa kutisha ambaye aliniona mimi, mwenye dhambi, na alitaka kuwa na ushirika nami. Njia pekee ambayo inaweza kutokea ni kwa Mungu kutengeneza njia. Na alifanya! Ninawezaje kuangalia kile Mungu alinifanyia na hata kufikiria wazo kwamba siwezi kujisalimisha kwa kile Anachotaka nifanye na kuwa?
Kuwa mnyenyekevu! Usijifikirie mwenyewe kwanza. Fikiria wengine. Wakati nilikuwa kijana moja ya vifupisho ambavyo mara nyingi vilitumika katika huduma ya vijana ilikuwa FURAHA - Yesu, Wengine, Wewe. Tunapofikiria jinsi tunapaswa kumtumikia tunamtumikia Yesu kwanza, wengine pili, na tufikirie sisi wenyewe tatu.
Maombi
Mpendwa Bwana, tusaidie kukutazama kwanza na zaidi ili tuweze kuona jinsi tunavyofananishwa na wewe. Na tuige mfano wa Yesu katika kuwa wanyenyekevu, wema, na mkarimu. Ondoa kiburi chetu na tuangalie tu juu ya msalaba ili tuone ni vipi hatustahili upendo wako. Yote tuliyo ni kwa sababu ya neema yako. Asante!
