Psaume 23:4

4Même si je marche dans la vallée de l'ombre et de la mort,

je ne redoute aucun mal, Seigneur, car tu m'accompagnes.

Tu me conduis, tu me défends, voilà ce qui me rassure.

Cela doit être l'un des versets les plus célèbres et les plus cités de la Bible. Je ne peux pas compter le nombre de fois où j’ai entendu ce verset prêché ou enseigné. C’est l’une des expressions ultimes de la bonté bienveillante de Dieu envers nous. La bienheureuse assurance qu'au milieu de nos épreuves et de nos tribulations, bien que tout semble sombre et sombre, Dieu est là avec nous.

L'une des raisons pour lesquelles ce verset résonne si universellement est que nous avons tous l'impression d'avoir traversé la vallée de l'ombre de la mort. Nous avons tous traversé à la fois au propre et au figuré ce précipice sombre et profond. Nous savons ce que c'est d'avoir peur, de se sentir perdu et d'être seul. Mais, il y a un Sauveur. Il y a le Bon Pasteur. Celui qui est là avec nous. Non seulement en marchant à côté de nous, mais en nous guidant à travers les ombres.

Nous ne pouvons connaître le vrai réconfort dont parle ce verset que si nous avons accepté Jésus comme notre Sauveur et Seigneur personnel. C'est à travers notre relation personnelle avec Jésus que nous ne pouvons absolument pas avoir peur de la mort ou du mal.

Psalm 23:4

4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil,

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff,

they comfort me.

This has to be one of the most famous and most quoted verses in the Bible.  I cannot count the number of times I’ve heard this verse preached or taught.  This is one of the ultimate expressions of God’s loving kindness towards us.  The blessed assurance that in the midst of our trials and tribulations, though all seems dark and bleak, God is there with us.

One of the reasons that this verse resounds so universally is that we all feel as though we have walked through the valley of the shadow of death.  We have all both literally and figuratively gone through that dark, deep precipice.  We know what it is to be scared, to feel lost, and to be alone.  But, there is a Savior.  There is The Good Shepherd.  The one who is there with us.  Not only walking beside us, but actually guiding us through the shadows.

We can only know the true comfort spoken of in this verse if we have accepted Jesus as our personal Savior and Lord.  It is through our personal relationship with Jesus that we can have absolutely no fear of death or evil.

Zaburi 23:4

4Hata kama nikipita katikati

ya bonde la uvuli wa mauti,

sitaogopa mabaya,

kwa maana wewe upo pamoja nami;

fimbo yako na mkongojo wako

vyanifariji.

Hii lazima iwe moja ya mistari maarufu na iliyonukuliwa sana katika Biblia. Siwezi kuhesabu idadi ya mara ambazo nimesikia aya hii ikihubiriwa au kufundishwa. Hii ni moja ya maonyesho ya mwisho ya fadhili za upendo za Mungu kwetu. Uhakikisho uliobarikiwa kwamba katikati ya majaribu na dhiki zetu, ingawa zote zinaonekana kuwa nyeusi na nyeusi, Mungu yuko pamoja nasi.

Moja ya sababu ambazo aya hii inasikika sana ulimwenguni ni kwamba sisi sote tunahisi kana kwamba tumetembea kupitia bonde la uvuli wa mauti. Sisi wote kwa kweli na kwa mfano tumepita kwenye kilele cha giza, kirefu. Tunajua ni nini kuogopa, kuhisi kupotea, na kuwa peke yetu. Lakini, kuna Mwokozi. Kuna yule Mchungaji Mzuri. Yule aliye pamoja nasi. Sio tu kutembea kando yetu, lakini kwa kweli kutuongoza kupitia vivuli.

Tunaweza tu kujua faraja ya kweli iliyosemwa katika aya hii ikiwa tumempokea Yesu kama Mwokozi na Bwana wetu. Ni kupitia uhusiano wetu wa kibinafsi na Yesu ndio tunaweza kuwa na hofu yoyote ya kifo au uovu.
