Psaume 119:11

11Dans mon cœur, je conserve ce que tu as dit

pour ne pas pécher contre toi.

L'une des choses qui rend la lecture de la Bible et l'étude de la Bible si importantes est qu'elle nous fonde sur qui est Dieu. Nous voyons comment Dieu interagit avec les humains. Nous voyons comment Dieu approuve ou désapprouve les actions, les pensées et les comportements. Nous voyons les conséquences de ne pas avoir une relation vivante, continue et approfondie avec Dieu.

Nous découvrons également nous-mêmes. Lorsque nous sommes confrontés aux vérités de la Bible, nous devons agir en conséquence. Soit nous les acceptons, soit nous les rejetons. La Bible nous met au défi avec des représentations honnêtes des gens - et de nous-mêmes.

Il n'y a aucun moyen pour nous d'être croyants sans connaître la Bible. Nous lisons et étudions la Bible parce qu'elle nous montre comment nous devons vivre en tant que croyants. Il y a des enseignements qui traitent directement de la façon dont nous devons nous comporter, agir, interagir, penser, prier et adorer.

Nous lisons et étudions la Bible pour notre bien et pour celui de ceux avec qui nous entrons en contact. Nous mémorisons des passages et des versets afin de pouvoir les méditer pendant que nous prions ou louons.

La Bible est bien plus qu'un livre de règles, mais elle contient des règles. Nous devons lire et étudier la Bible afin de reconnaître quand nous sortons des limites; lorsque nous approchons de la ligne de fin. Plus nous passons de temps à lire et à étudier la Bible, moins il nous reste de temps pour nous laisser entraîner par la tentation.

Nous devons passer du temps quotidiennement dans la Bible. Cela doit faire partie de notre routine quotidienne. Même quand il semble difficile de gagner du temps, nous devons gagner du temps. C'est essentiel pour notre santé spirituelle et mentale. C'est vital pour la façon dont nous vivons dans notre vie quotidienne.

Psalm 119:11

11I have stored up your word in my heart,

that I might not sin against you.

One of the things that makes Bible reading and Bible study so important is that it grounds us in who God is.  We see how God interacts with humans.  We see how God approves or disapproves of actions, thoughts, and behaviors.  We see the consequences of not having a living, continual, and deepening relationship with God.

We also find out about ourselves.  When we are confronted with the truths in the Bible we must act on them.  Either we accept them or we reject them.  The Bible challenges us with honest depictions of people -- and ourselves.

There is no way for us to be believers without knowing the Bible.  We read and study the Bible because it shows us how we are to live as believers.  There are teachings directly addressing how we are to behave, act, interact, think, pray, and worship.

We read and study the Bible for our benefit and for the benefit of those with whom we come in contact.  We memorize passages and verses so that we may meditate on them as we pray or praise.

The Bible is much more than a rule book, but it does contain rules.  We need to read and study the Bible so that we recognize when we are going out of bounds; when we are getting close to the end line.  The more time that we spend reading and studying the Bible the less time there is for us to be drawn away by temptation.

We need to spend daily time in the Bible.  It needs to be one of the things in our daily routine.  Even when it seems hard to make the time, we need to make the time.  It is essential for our spiritual and mental health.  It is vital for how we live in our daily lives.

Zaburi 119:11

11Nimelificha neno lako moyoni mwangu

ili nisikutende dhambi.

Moja ya mambo ambayo hufanya kusoma na kusoma Biblia kuwa muhimu sana ni kwamba inatuweka ndani ya Mungu ni nani. Tunaona jinsi Mungu anavyoshughulika na wanadamu. Tunaona jinsi Mungu anavyokubali au kukataa matendo, mawazo, na tabia. Tunaona matokeo ya kutokuwa na uhusiano wa kuishi, kuendelea, na kuongezeka na Mungu.

Tunajua pia juu yetu. Tunapokabiliwa na ukweli katika Biblia lazima tuchukue hatua. Ama tunawakubali au tunawakataa. Bibilia inatupa changamoto ya kuonyesha kwa uaminifu watu - na sisi wenyewe.

Hakuna njia ya sisi kuwa waumini bila kujua Biblia. Tunasoma na kujifunza Biblia kwa sababu inatuonyesha jinsi tunavyopaswa kuishi kama waumini. Kuna mafundisho yanayoshughulikia moja kwa moja jinsi tunapaswa kuishi, kutenda, kuingiliana, kufikiria, kuomba, na kuabudu.

Tunasoma na kujifunza Biblia kwa faida yetu na kwa faida ya wale tunaowasiliana nao. Tunakariri vifungu na aya ili tuweze kuzitafakari tunapoomba au kusifu.

Biblia ni zaidi ya kitabu cha sheria, lakini ina sheria. Tunahitaji kusoma na kujifunza Biblia ili tuweze kutambua wakati tunaenda nje ya mipaka; wakati tunakaribia mstari wa mwisho. Wakati mwingi ambao tunatumia kusoma na kusoma Biblia ni wakati mdogo wa sisi kuvutwa na kishawishi.

Tunahitaji kutumia wakati wa kila siku katika Biblia. Inahitaji kuwa moja ya vitu katika utaratibu wetu wa kila siku. Hata wakati inavyoonekana kuwa ngumu kupata wakati, tunahitaji kuutenga wakati. Ni muhimu kwa afya yetu ya kiroho na kiakili. Ni muhimu kwa jinsi tunavyoishi katika maisha yetu ya kila siku.
