Luc 4:18-19

Quand dans la plénitude du temps. . . Jésus s'est révélé. En utilisant les paroles du prophète Isaïe (61:1-2) Jésus inaugure son ministère sur terre. Il parlait avec autorité et cette autorité était renforcée et soutenue par la Vérité. Les membres de la synagogue ce jour-là étaient furieux ! N'est-ce pas le fils du charpentier ?
Entendre la vérité n'est pas toujours agréable ni facile - mais c'est nécessaire. Jésus a dit la vérité à ses amis et voisins. Il semble qu'il avait une bonne réputation à Nazareth.
Les gens semblaient l'aimer et le trouver bien versé dans les Écritures et ayant un bon caractère. Il n'y a aucun scrupule à ce qu'il fasse une lecture publique des Prophètes le jour du sabbat. Seuls les membres en règle et ayant le respect des dirigeants de la synagogue seraient autorisés à lire dans la synagogue le jour du sabbat.
Pourtant, Jésus prétendant être l'accomplissement de l'Écriture est autre chose. Luc nous dit qu'il a fait une étude minutieuse des événements de la vie de Jésus. Il est présumé que cela incluait des déplacements et des entretiens. Bien sûr, nous n'avons pas ses notes d'entretien - mais il doit y avoir des habitants de Nazareth qui sont devenus plus tard des disciples de Jésus qui l'ont entendu lire le rouleau d'Isaïe ce jour-là.
Nous savons également d'après les découvertes à Qumran qu'il est très probable qu'Isaïe était un rouleau complet. L'ordre du service du Sabbat aurait été 1. Prières 2. Lecture de la Loi (7 sections), puis la lecture des Prophètes. Ensuite, il y aurait eu un court sermon. Il n'est pas enregistré quelles étaient les lectures de la Loi pour ce jour-là. Mais quand Jésus a reçu le rouleau d'Isaïe, il aurait dû le dérouler presque jusqu'au bout pour arriver à ce passage.
Jésus connaissait Sa Bible. Nous voyons cela ici et nous le voyons dans de nombreux autres endroits. Vous pouvez dire, « bien sûr qu'Il l'a fait », c'est par Son Esprit que les paroles ont été écrites ! Si nous mettons cela de côté un instant, nous voyons aussi que Jésus était très versé dès son plus jeune âge ainsi qu'un bon élève (Luc 2:52).
Toute l'histoire mise à part - Jésus est venu nous libérer. Comme il interprète lui-même le passage à écrire sur lui et sa mission.
Quel merveilleux cadeau que Dieu nous a fait que Jésus soit venu nous libérer du fardeau de nos péchés.

Cher Seigneur, merci d'être venu nous libérer de la captivité du péché. Que tu sois venu proclamer la Bonne Nouvelle du salut et que ta mort sur la croix a ôté mes péchés. Aide-moi à diffuser ton message de vraie liberté - même si ceux qui entendent le message sont offensés par sa Vérité.

18“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
19to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
When in the fullness of time . . . Jesus revealed Himself. Using the words of the prophet Isaiah (61:1-2) Jesus inaugurates His ministry on earth. He spoke with authority and that authority was bolstered and upheld by the Truth. The members of the synagogue that day were furious! Isn’t this the carpenter’s son?
Hearing the truth is not always pleasant nor is it easy - but it is necessary. Jesus spoke the truth to his friends and neighbors. It seems he had a good reputation in Nazareth.
The people seemed to like him and to find him well versed in Scripture as well as having a good character. There are no qualms about him doing a public reading from The Prophets on the Sabbath. Only members in good standing as well as having the respect of the leaders of the synagogue would be allowed to read in the synagogue on the Sabbath.
Yet, Jesus claiming to be the fulfillment of Scripture is something else. Luke tells us that he did a careful study of the events of the life of Jesus. It is presumed that included going to locations and conducting interviews. Of course, we don’t have his interview notes - but there must have been some locals from Nazareth who later became followers of Jesus that heard him read from the Isaiah scroll that day.
We also know from finds at Qumran that it is highly likely that Isaiah was one complete scroll. The order of the Sabbath service would have been 1. Prayers 2. Reading of the Law (7 sections), then the reading of the Prophets. Afterward, there would have been a short sermon. It is not recorded what the readings of the Law were for that day. But when Jesus was handed the Isaiah scroll he would have had to unroll it to almost the end to get to this passage.
Jesus knew His Bible. We see that here and we see that in many other places. You may say, “of course He did,” it was by His Spirit that the words were written! If we put that aside for a moment, we also see that Jesus was well versed from an early age as well as a good student (Luke 2:52).
All of the history aside - Jesus came to set us free. As he himself interprets the passage to be written about him and his mission.
What a wonderful gift that God has given us that Jesus came to set us free from the burdens of our sins.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank You that you came to set us free from the captivity of sin. That you came and proclaimed the Good News of salvation and that your death on the cross took away my sins. Help me to spread your message of true freedom - even if the ones hearing the message are offended by its Truth.

19 Na kutangaza mwaka wa Bwana uliokubaliwa.
Wakati katika utimilifu wa wakati. . . Yesu alijifunua. Kutumia maneno ya nabii Isaya (61: 1-2) Yesu anaanzisha huduma yake duniani. Aliongea kwa mamlaka na mamlaka hayo yalitiwa nguvu na kushikiliwa na Ukweli. Washiriki wa sinagogi siku hiyo walikasirika! Je, huyu si mtoto wa seremala?
Kusikia ukweli sio kupendeza kila wakati wala sio rahisi - lakini ni muhimu. Yesu alisema kweli kwa marafiki na majirani zake. Inaonekana alikuwa na sifa nzuri katika Nazareti.
Watu walionekana kumpenda na kumpata mjuzi wa Maandiko na vile vile kuwa na tabia njema. Hakuna mashaka juu yake kufanya usomaji wa umma kutoka kwa Manabii siku ya Sabato. Wanachama tu katika msimamo mzuri na vile vile kuwa na heshima ya viongozi wa sinagogi ndio wangeruhusiwa kusoma katika sinagogi siku ya Sabato.
Walakini, Yesu kudai kuwa utimilifu wa Maandiko ni jambo lingine. Luka anatuambia kwamba alifanya utafiti wa makini wa matukio ya maisha ya Yesu. Inachukuliwa kuwa ni pamoja na kwenda mahali na kufanya mahojiano. Kwa kweli, hatuna maelezo yake ya mahojiano - lakini lazima kuwe na wenyeji kutoka Nazareti ambao baadaye wakawa wafuasi wa Yesu ambao walimsikia akisoma kutoka kwenye kitabu cha Isaya siku hiyo.
Tunajua pia kutoka kwa kupatikana huko Qumran kwamba kuna uwezekano mkubwa kwamba Isaya alikuwa kitabu kimoja kamili. Utaratibu wa huduma ya Sabato ungekuwa 1. Maombi 2. Usomaji wa Sheria (sehemu 7), kisha usomaji wa Manabii. Baadaye, kungekuwa na mahubiri mafupi. Haikurekodiwa masomo ya Sheria yalikuwa kwa siku hiyo. Lakini wakati Yesu alipewa gombo la Isaya angelilazimika kulifunua karibu mwisho ili kufikia kifungu hiki.
Yesu aliijua Biblia yake. Tunaona hiyo hapa na tunaona hiyo katika maeneo mengine mengi. Unaweza kusema, "bila shaka alifanya hivyo," ilikuwa kwa Roho Yake kwamba maneno hayo yaliandikwa! Ikiwa tutaweka kando kwa muda mfupi, tunaona pia kwamba Yesu alikuwa mjuzi tangu utotoni na pia mwanafunzi mzuri (Luka 2:52).
Historia yote kando - Yesu alikuja kutuweka huru. Kama yeye mwenyewe anafasiri kifungu kuandikwa juu yake na utume wake.
Zawadi nzuri sana ambayo Mungu ametupa kwamba Yesu alikuja kutuweka huru kutoka kwa mizigo ya dhambi zetu.

Mpendwa Bwana, asante kwamba ulikuja kutuweka huru kutoka kwa utumwa wa dhambi. Kwamba ulikuja na kutangaza Habari Njema ya wokovu na kwamba kifo chako msalabani kilichukua dhambi zangu. Nisaidie kueneza ujumbe wako wa uhuru wa kweli - hata ikiwa wale wanaosikia ujumbe wamekerwa na Ukweli wake.
