Proverbes 3:9-10

9Honore le SEIGNEUR avec tes biens et avec les prémices de toutes tes récoltes:

10alors tes granges seront remplies d'abondance, et tes cuves déborderont de vin.

Dîmes, offrandes et cadeaux. Un des sujets les plus évités par la plupart des pasteurs et enseignants qui ne prêchent pas sur un «Évangile de la prospérité». La dîme ou 1 / 10ème est vue pour la première fois dans Genèse 14 quand Abram donne un dixième du butin de guerre à Melchisédek. Il est plus tard codifié dans Lévitique, Nombres et Deutéronome. Jésus ne donne jamais de règle générale sur le montant à donner.

L'intention de la dîme, des offrandes et des dons est double: 1) aider à soutenir les ministres et les missionnaires dans leur appel à prêcher, enseigner et partager la Bonne Nouvelle en tant que vocation à plein temps; et 2) l’opportunité pour le donateur de se rendre compte que tous les biens matériels et toutes les richesses que nous recevons sont dus à la grâce, à la miséricorde et à la bénédiction de Dieu qui nous sont accordées. Dans l'Ancien Testament, il était nécessaire de donner une dîme ainsi que d'apporter des offrandes aux lieux de culte. Les offrandes devaient avoir une signification particulière parce qu'elles devaient rendre un droit devant Dieu pour les péchés commis. Les meilleurs animaux du troupeau ou du troupeau devaient être amenés en fonction du sacrifice prescrit pour le péché.

Aujourd'hui, en tant que chrétiens, nous n'avons plus à apporter des offrandes pour payer nos péchés. Jésus a payé cette dette pour nous. Pourtant, nous devons encore donner pour soutenir le ministère de l'église locale, l'éducation et les missions. Nous devons encore donner en signe de reconnaissance que tout ce que nous avons est dû à la grâce, à la miséricorde et aux bénédictions de Dieu dans nos vies.

Ces versets nous disent comment Dieu bénit ceux qui honorent Dieu de leur richesse matérielle. Il est basé sur la compréhension que la richesse matérielle doit être utilisée pour honorer Dieu. Jésus souligne (comme Paul plus tard) que la richesse matérielle n'est pas en soi mauvaise. Jésus et Paul soulignent également que la richesse matérielle n'est pas proportionnelle à votre dévotion à Dieu. Dieu nous bénit de bien plus de manières que la richesse matérielle.

La richesse matérielle est éphémère. Nous vivons ici depuis si peu de temps dans l'ordre des choses. Si vous êtes si chanceux d'être aisé, alors remerciez Dieu pour les opportunités et les circonstances qui ont rendu cela possible. Ensuite, donnez au ministère de Jésus-Christ. Donnez le meilleur de vous-même au service de Jésus-Christ. Donnez généreusement au ministère qui partage non seulement les enseignements de Jésus, mais qui vit la Grande Commission et le deuxième plus grand commandement - aimer votre prochain.

Prière

Dieu tout-puissant, merci pour vos bénédictions dans ma vie. Je te remercie de m'avoir donné la vie éternelle. Je te remercie de pouvoir bénir les autres avec ma dîme, mes offrandes et mes cadeaux. Aidez-moi à être fidèle en soutenant les ministres de mon église. Aidez-moi à être fidèle en soutenant les ministères dans ma région. Aide-moi à être fidèle en soutenant ceux qui sont appelés à un ministère à plein temps partout où tu les as conduits.

Proverbs 3:9-10

9Honor the LORD with your wealth

and with the firstfruits of all your produce;

10then your barns will be filled with plenty,

and your vats will be bursting with wine.

Tithes, offerings, and gifts.  One of the most avoided subjects by most pastors and teachers who do not preach about a “prosperity Gospel.”  Tithing or 1/10th is first seen in Genesis 14 when Abram gives one-tenth of the spoils of war to Melchizedek.  It is later codified in Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.  Jesus never gives an overarching rule on how much to give.

The intention of the tithes, offerings, and gifts are two-fold:  1) to help sustain the ministers and missionaries in their calling to preach, teach, and share the Good News as a full-time vocation; and 2) the opportunity for the giver to realize that all the material goods and wealth that we receive are because of God’s grace, mercies, and blessing extended to us.  In the Old Testament, it was required to give a tithe as well as to bring offerings to the places of worship.  The offerings were to have special significance because they were to make one right before God for sins committed.  The best animals of the herd or flock were to be brought in depending on the prescribed sacrifice for the sin.

Today, we as Christians no longer have to bring offerings to pay for our sins.  Jesus paid that debt for us.  Yet, we are still to give to support the ministry of the local church, education, and missions.  We are still to give as a sign of recognition that all we have is due to God’s grace, mercies, and blessings in our lives.

These verses tell us of how God blesses those who honor God with their material wealth.  It is based on the understanding that material wealth is to be used to honor God.  Jesus points out (as does Paul later) that material wealth is not in and of itself evil.  Jesus and Paul also point out that material wealth is not in proportion to your devotion to God.  God blesses us in many more ways than material wealth.

Material wealth is fleeting.  We live here for such a very short time in the scheme of things.  If you are so fortunate to be well off, then thank God for the opportunities and circumstances that have made that possible.  Then, give to the ministry of Jesus Christ.  Give your best in the service of Jesus Christ.  Give generously to the ministry that is sharing not only the teachings of Jesus, but living out the Great Commission and the second greatest commandment - loving your neighbor.

Prayer

Almighty God, thank You for Your blessings in my life.  I thank You that You have given me eternal life.  I thank You that I can bless others with my tithes, offerings, and gifts.  Help me to be faithful in supporting the ministers in my church.  Help me to be faithful in supporting the ministries in my area.  Help me to be faithful in supporting those who are called to full time ministry wherever You have led them.

9Mheshimu Bwana kwa mali zako na

kwa malimbuko ya mazao yako yote;

10ndipo ghala zako zitakapojaa hadi kufurika,

viriba vyako vitafurika kwa mvinyo mpya.

Zaka, sadaka, na zawadi. Mojawapo ya masomo yaliyoepukwa sana na wachungaji wengi na waalimu ambao hawahubiri kuhusu "Injili ya kufanikiwa." Kutoa zaka au 1/10 kwa mara ya kwanza kunaonekana katika Mwanzo 14 wakati Abramu anatoa sehemu moja ya kumi ya nyara za vita kwa Melkizedeki. Baadaye imeorodheshwa katika Mambo ya Walawi, Hesabu na Kumbukumbu la Torati. Kamwe Yesu haitoi sheria kuu juu ya kiasi gani cha kutoa.

Kusudi la zaka, matoleo, na zawadi ni mara mbili: 1) kusaidia kudumisha wahudumu na wamishonari katika wito wao wa kuhubiri, kufundisha, na kushiriki Habari Njema kama wito wa wakati wote; na 2) fursa kwa mtoaji kutambua kwamba bidhaa na mali zote tunazopokea ni kwa sababu ya neema ya Mungu, rehema, na baraka zilizotolewa kwetu. Katika Agano la Kale, ilihitajika kutoa zaka na vile vile kuleta matoleo kwa sehemu za ibada. Sadaka zilipaswa kuwa na umuhimu maalum kwa sababu zilipaswa kumfanya mtu kuwa sawa mbele za Mungu kwa dhambi zilizofanywa. Wanyama bora wa kundi au kundi walipaswa kuletwa kulingana na kafara iliyowekwa kwa ajili ya dhambi.

Leo, sisi kama Wakristo hatupaswi tena kuleta matoleo ili kulipia dhambi zetu. Yesu alilipa deni hiyo kwa ajili yetu. Walakini, bado tunapaswa kutoa msaada kwa huduma ya kanisa la mahali, elimu, na umisheni. Bado tunapaswa kutoa kama ishara ya kutambua kwamba yote tuliyonayo ni kwa sababu ya neema ya Mungu, rehema, na baraka katika maisha yetu.

Mistari hii inatuambia jinsi Mungu hubariki wale wanaomheshimu Mungu na utajiri wao wa mali. Inategemea uelewa kwamba utajiri wa mali unapaswa kutumiwa kumheshimu Mungu. Yesu anaonyesha (kama vile Paulo anavyofanya baadaye) kuwa utajiri wa mali sio na sio mbaya. Yesu na Paulo pia wanasema kuwa utajiri wa mali haulingani na kujitolea kwako kwa Mungu. Mungu hutubariki kwa njia nyingi kuliko utajiri wa mali.

Utajiri wa mali ni wa muda mfupi. Tunaishi hapa kwa muda mfupi sana katika mpango wa mambo. Ikiwa umebahatika kuwa na hali nzuri, basi mshukuru Mungu kwa fursa na hali ambazo zimewezesha hivyo. Kisha, toa huduma ya Yesu Kristo. Jitoe kwa bidii katika utumishi wa Yesu Kristo. Toa kwa ukarimu huduma ambayo inashiriki sio tu mafundisho ya Yesu, lakini kuishi kwa Agizo Kuu na amri ya pili kubwa - kumpenda jirani yako.

Mungu Mwenyezi, asante kwa baraka zako maishani mwangu. Ninakushukuru kwa kuwa umenipa uzima wa milele. Ninakushukuru kwamba ninaweza kubariki wengine kwa zaka zangu, matoleo, na zawadi. Nisaidie kuwa mwaminifu katika kusaidia wahudumu katika kanisa langu. Nisaidie kuwa mwaminifu katika kuunga mkono huduma katika eneo langu. Nisaidie kuwa mwaminifu katika kusaidia wale ambao wameitwa kwa huduma ya wakati wote popote ulipo waongoza.
