Jean 14:2-3

2Il y a beaucoup de demeures dans la maison de mon Père. Sinon, vous aurais-je dit que je vais vous préparer une place? 3Si donc je m'en vais vous préparer une place, je reviens vous prendre auprès de moi, pour que là où, moi, je suis, vous soyez, vous aussi. 

Ce sont des versets tellement impressionnants. À quoi ressemble le paradis? Qu'est-ce que ça fait d'être avec Jésus pour l'éternité? Il rentre à la maison. Nous sommes les bienvenus. Nous sommes aimés. Nous sommes en sécurité.

Jésus nous promet qu'il reviendra pour nous. L'un des grands avantages d'être chrétien est que nous expérimentons non seulement la joie du salut sur cette Terre, mais nous continuons à expérimenter cette joie pour l'éternité. Nous servons un Sauveur ressuscité qui a non seulement pris le châtiment de tous nos péchés sur lui-même, mais un Sauveur qui vit encore.

Pour le chrétien, la mort n'est pas à craindre. Ce n'est pas la fin. C'est un point de transition. Aujourd'hui, il y a tellement de gens qui vivent dans la peur de mourir. Pour le chrétien, la mort a été vaincue. Nous ne sommes ici que temporairement. Nous devons aimer et servir Dieu, puis aimer et servir nos semblables. En tant que chrétiens, nous savons que la joie que nous éprouvons ici sur Terre n'est qu'un avant-goût de ce que nous vivrons dans la Maison de Dieu.

J'adore les images ici. C'est à la maison. Même si vous avez grandi dans une mauvaise maison, vous avez toujours l'idée de ce que signifie la maison: amour, confort, acceptation, familiarité, éducation. Notre maison céleste est l'endroit où vit Jésus.

Il y a aussi l'assurance dans ces versets que Jésus reviendra pour nous. Il nous conduira personnellement dans notre demeure céleste. Nous serons avec lui.

Prière

Merci Seigneur que grâce au salut que vous offrez, nous pourrons un jour être vraiment à la maison.

2In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

These are such awesome verses.  What is heaven like?  What is it like to be with Jesus for eternity?  It is going home.  We are welcome.  We are loved.  We are secure.  

Jesus promises us that He will return for us.  One of the great benefits of being a Christian is that we not only experience the joy of salvation on this Earth, but we continue to experience that joy for eternity.  We serve a risen Savior who not only took the punishment of all of our sins upon Himself, but a Savior who still lives.

For the Christian, death is not to be feared.  It is not the end.  It is a transition point.  Today there are so many people living in fear that they will die.  For the Christian, death has been defeated.  We are only here temporarily.  We are to love and serve God and then love and serve our fellow humans.  As Christians, we have the knowledge that the joy that we experience here on Earth is just a foretaste of what we will experience in the House of God.

I love the imagery here.  It is home.  Even if you grew up in a bad home you still have the idea of what home means: love, comfort, acceptance, familiarity, nurture.  Our heavenly home is where Jesus lives.

There is also the assurance in these verses that Jesus will come back for us.  He will personally take us to our heavenly home.  We will be with Him.

Prayer

Thank You Lord that You through the salvation that You offer that we can one day truly be home.

Yohana 14:2-3

2Nyumbani kwa Baba yangu kuna makao mengi. Kama sivyo, ningeliwaambia. Naenda kuwaandalia makao. 3Nami nikienda na kuwaandalia makao, nitarudi tena na kuwachukua mkae pamoja nami, ili mahali nilipo, nanyi mpate kuwepo.

Hizi ni aya nzuri sana. Mbingu ikoje? Je! Ni nini kuwa na Yesu milele? Inaenda nyumbani. Tunakaribishwa. Tunapendwa. Tuko salama.

Yesu anatuahidi kwamba atarudi kwa ajili yetu. Moja ya faida kubwa ya kuwa Mkristo ni kwamba sio tu tunapata furaha ya wokovu hapa duniani, lakini tunaendelea kupata furaha hiyo milele. Tunamtumikia Mwokozi aliyefufuka ambaye sio tu alichukua adhabu ya dhambi zetu zote juu yake, bali Mwokozi ambaye bado anaishi.

Kwa Mkristo, kifo haipaswi kuogopwa. Sio mwisho. Ni hatua ya mpito. Leo kuna watu wengi wanaoishi kwa hofu kwamba watakufa. Kwa Mkristo, kifo kimeshindwa. Tuko hapa kwa muda tu. Tunapaswa kumpenda na kumtumikia Mungu na kisha kuwapenda na kuwahudumia wenzetu. Kama Wakristo, tuna ujuzi kwamba furaha tunayoipata hapa Duniani ni kielelezo tu cha kile tutakachopata katika Nyumba ya Mungu.

Ninapenda picha hapa. Ni nyumbani. Hata kama ulikulia katika nyumba mbaya bado una wazo la maana ya nyumba: upendo, faraja, kukubalika, kuzoea, kulea. Nyumba yetu ya mbinguni ni mahali Yesu anaishi.

Pia kuna uhakikisho katika mistari hii kwamba Yesu atarudi kwa ajili yetu. Yeye binafsi atatupeleka kwenye nyumba yetu ya mbinguni. Tutakuwa pamoja naye.
