Psaume 19:15
15Ce que j'ai dit, ce que j'ai médité devant toi,
j'espère que cela te sera agréable,
Seigneur, mon rocher, mon défenseur!
Combien de fois voulons-nous gagner l'acceptation des autres? Combien de fois voulons-nous nous intégrer? Combien de fois travaillons-nous pour impressionner quelqu'un? Combien de fois essayons-nous d'obtenir la voie interne d'un achat ou d'un investissement? Est-ce que nous nous arrêtons pour penser à quoi cela ressemble à Dieu? Le temps que nous passons à nous habiller pour impressionner. Le temps que nous passons à essayer de rencontrer les bonnes personnes. Le temps que nous passons à espérer être remarqué. Le temps que nous passons à essayer d'attirer l'attention.
Dieu est là. Dieu est toujours là. Acceptant. Aimant. Indulgent. Réconfortant. Solide. Combien de temps passons-nous à travailler pour être humble et obéissant à Dieu? Vous réfléchissez à la façon dont nous pouvons mieux servir Dieu chez nous, dans notre communauté, dans notre église, dans notre travail? Combien de temps passons-nous à réfléchir à notre position inconciliable avec Dieu? Où rien de ce que nous pouvons faire ne peut nous amener en présence du Dieu Saint? Combien de temps passons-nous à méditer sur la Parole de Dieu? Les enseignements de l'Ancien Testament. Les proclamations de ceux envoyés par Dieu pour dire aux Israélites comment Dieu voulait qu'ils vivent. Les histoires de foi - vivre dans la plénitude de cette foi ou ne pas avoir de foi ou toutes les variations entre les deux. Combien de temps réfléchissons-nous aux enseignements de Jésus? Sur les autres auteurs du Nouveau Testament? Combien de temps passons-nous à réfléchir à ce qu'est une relation divine entre un homme et une femme? Entre un mari et une femme? Entre parents et enfants? Entre chrétiens et non-chrétiens? Parmi les chrétiens?
Examinons-nous ce que nous pensons la plupart de la journée? Penser à Dieu n'est-il qu'une pensée fugitive ou quelques minutes lorsque nous nous réservons le temps de lire la Bible et de prier?
Nos paroles sont-elles édifiantes et encourageantes? Pensons-nous à ce que nous disons lorsque nous rencontrons une situation qui nous bouleverse?
Le christianisme est plus qu'une étiquette que nous mettons sur nous-mêmes. C'est une vie changée. C'est celui qui est différent du monde. Nos paroles et nos pensées sont des indications de notre niveau de maturité en tant que chrétiens. Les choses que nous faisons et disons sont-elles acceptables pour Dieu? Dieu est toujours présent et inébranlable. Nous avons accès à Sa Sainteté par la mort de Jésus-Christ qui a pris nos péchés sur lui afin que le châtiment de nos péchés soit entièrement payé. Si nous revendiquons ce salut, nous avons accès au Dieu Saint et devons travailler de tout cœur pour nous rendre acceptables à Dieu dans notre discours et nos pensées.
Psalm 19:14
14Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
How many times do we want to gain the acceptance of others? How many times do we want to fit in? How many times do we work to impress someone? How many times do we try to get the inside track on a purchase or investment? Do we stop to think about how that looks to God? The amount of time that we spend dressing to impress. The amount of time we spend trying to get in front of the right people. The amount of time we spend hoping to get noticed. The amount of time we spend trying to get attention.
God is there. God is always there. Accepting. Loving. Forgiving. Comforting. Solid. How much time do we spend working on being humble and obedient to God? Thinking about how we can better serve God in our home, in our community, in our church, at our job? How much time do we spend thinking about our irreconcilable position to God? Where nothing that we can do can bring us into the presence of The Holy God? How much time do we spend meditating on God’s Word? The teachings in the Old Testament. The proclamations of those sent by God to tell the Israelites how God wanted them to live. The stories of faith - either living in the fullness of that faith or not having any faith or all the variations in between. How much time do we reflect on the teachings of Jesus? On the other authors of the New Testament? How much time do we spend reflecting on what is a Godly relationship between a man and a woman? Between a husband and a wife? Between parents and children? Between Christians and non-Christians? Among Christians?
Do we examine what we think about most of the day? Is thinking about God only a fleeting thought or a few minutes when we set aside time to read the Bible and pray?
Are our words uplifting and encouraging? Do we think about what we say when we come across a situation that upsets us?
Christianity is more than a tag we put on ourselves. It is a changed life. It is one that is different from the world. Our words and our thoughts are indications of our level of maturity as Christians. Are the things that we do and say acceptable to God? God is ever present and steadfast. We have access to His Holiness through the death of Jesus Christ who took our sins upon Himself so that the punishment for our sins would be fully paid. If we claim that salvation, we have access to The Holy God and should heartily work to make ourselves acceptable to God in our speech and thoughts.
Zaburi 19:14
yapate kibali mbele zako, Ee Bwana,
Mwamba wangu na Mkombozi wangu.
Ni mara ngapi tunataka kupata kukubalika kwa wengine? Tunataka kutoshea mara ngapi? Tunafanya kazi mara ngapi ili kumvutia mtu? Je! Ni mara ngapi tunajaribu kupata wimbo wa ndani kwenye ununuzi au uwekezaji? Je! Tunaacha kufikiria juu ya jinsi hiyo inavyoonekana kwa Mungu? Wakati ambao tunatumia kuvaa ili kuvutia. Kiasi cha wakati tunachotumia kujaribu kufika mbele ya watu sahihi. Kiasi cha muda tunachotumia kutumaini kutambuliwa. Kiasi cha wakati tunachotumia kujaribu kupata umakini.
Mungu yupo. Mungu yuko kila wakati. Kukubali. Kupenda. Kusamehe. Kufariji. Imara. Tunatumia muda gani kufanya kazi kuwa mnyenyekevu na mtiifu kwa Mungu? Kufikiria juu ya jinsi tunaweza kumtumikia Mungu vizuri nyumbani kwetu, katika jamii yetu, kanisani kwetu, kazini kwetu? Je! Tunatumia muda gani kufikiria juu ya msimamo wetu usiopatana na Mungu? Ambapo hakuna kitu ambacho tunaweza kufanya kinaweza kutuleta mbele ya Mungu Mtakatifu? Tunatumia muda gani kutafakari Neno la Mungu? Mafundisho katika Agano la Kale. Matangazo ya wale waliotumwa na Mungu kuwaambia Waisraeli jinsi Mungu alivyotaka waishi. Hadithi za imani - ama kuishi katika utimilifu wa imani hiyo au kutokuwa na imani yoyote au tofauti zote kati. Tunatafakari kwa muda gani juu ya mafundisho ya Yesu? Juu ya waandishi wengine wa Agano Jipya? Tunatumia muda gani kutafakari juu ya uhusiano wa Kimungu kati ya mwanamume na mwanamke? Kati ya mume na mke? Kati ya wazazi na watoto? Kati ya Wakristo na wasio Wakristo? Kati ya Wakristo?
Je! Tunachunguza kile tunachofikiria juu ya siku nyingi? Je! Kufikiria juu ya Mungu ni wazo la muda mfupi tu au dakika chache wakati tunatenga wakati wa kusoma Biblia na kuomba?
Je! Maneno yetu yanainua na kutia moyo? Je! Tunafikiria juu ya kile tunachosema tunapokutana na hali inayotukasirisha?
Ukristo ni zaidi ya lebo tunayojiweka sisi wenyewe. Ni maisha yaliyobadilishwa. Ni moja ambayo ni tofauti na ulimwengu. Maneno yetu na mawazo yetu ni dalili za kiwango chetu cha ukomavu kama Wakristo. Je! Mambo ambayo tunafanya na kusema yanakubalika kwa Mungu? Mungu yuko daima na yu thabiti. Tuna ufikiaji wa Utakatifu wake kupitia kifo cha Yesu Kristo ambaye alichukua dhambi zetu juu yake ili adhabu ya dhambi zetu zilipwe kikamilifu. Ikiwa tunadai wokovu huo, tunaweza kufikia Mungu Mtakatifu na tunapaswa kufanya kazi kwa moyo wote kujifanya kukubalika kwa Mungu katika usemi na mawazo yetu.
