 Psaume 90:2

2Avant que les montagnes fussent nées, 

Et que tu eussent créé la terre et le monde, 

D'éternité en éternité tu es Dieu.

Dieu est éternel. C'est un concept très difficile à saisir pour nous. Dieu a toujours été et sera toujours. Infini. Pas de début ni de fin. Nous pouvons sonder des décennies, des siècles, des millénaires et même des périodes plus longues parce que nous pouvons voir de telles choses non seulement dans les tableaux et les graphiques, mais aussi dans les strates de la terre. Le temps n'est qu'une partie de notre existence en tant que créature. Dieu est intemporel. Ce récit pré-création de qui est Dieu peut également être trouvé dans le nom que Dieu a révélé à Moïse dans Exode 3:14, J'étais, je suis, je serai. Il est suggéré dans le tout premier mot de Genèse 1: 1 où en hébreu il n'y a pas d'article «le». La grammaire du mot hébreu dit en fait «au début» ou «au début». Cela donne davantage le sentiment que Dieu prend la décision de créer les cieux et la terre au lieu de marquer un point de départ spécifique. Dieu était déjà là. Dieu existait avant.

Enfant, j'ai tenté de saisir l'ampleur de l'infini de Dieu. Je demanderais comment était-ce avant que Dieu ne crée les Cieux et la Terre? Qu'est-ce que cela signifie que Dieu a toujours été et sera toujours? En tant qu'enfant, je ne pouvais pas le saisir. Pour moi, c'était comme regarder deux miroirs se faisant face. Les réflexions continuent à s'éloigner de plus en plus du moment présent. Mais, encore une fois, Dieu a créé le temps. Dieu existe en dehors de notre conception du temps. Pourtant, Dieu s'injecte dans notre temps. Nous sommes si petits, mais Dieu juge bon de vouloir que nous ayons une relation avec lui. Ceci pour moi est époustouflant.

 Psalm 90:2

2Before the mountains were born

or you brought forth the whole world,

from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

God is eternal.  That is a very difficult concept for us to grasp.  God has always been and always will be.  Infinity.  No beginning or end.  We can fathom decades, centuries, millenia, and even longer periods of time because we can see such things not only in charts and graphs but also in the strata of the earth.  Time is just a part of our existence as the creature.  God is timeless.  This pre-creation account of who God is can also be found in the name that God revealed to Moses in Exodus 3:14, I Was, I Am, I Will be.  It is hinted in the very first word of Genesis 1:1 where in the Hebrew there is no article “the.”  The grammar of the Hebrew word actually says “when beginning” or “in beginning.”  This gives more the feeling of God making a decision to create the heavens and the earth instead of marking a specific starting point.  God was already there.  God existed before.  

As a child, I attempted to grasp the magnitude of the infinity of God.  I would ask what was it like before God created the Heavens and the Earth?  What does it mean God has always and will always be?  As a child I could not grasp it.  To me it felt like looking at two mirrors facing one another.  The reflections continue forever getting farther and farther away from the point of time that is now.  But, then again, God created time.  God exists outside of our concept of time.  Yet, God injects HImself into our time.  We are so small, yet God sees fit to want us to have a relationship with Him.  This to me is mindblowing.

2Kabla ya kuzaliwa milima

au hujaumba dunia na ulimwengu,

wewe ni Mungu tangu milele hata milele.

Mungu ni wa milele. Hiyo ni dhana ngumu sana kwetu kuelewa. Mungu amekuwa daima na atakuwa daima. Ukomo. Hakuna mwanzo wala mwisho. Tunaweza kufahamu miongo, karne, millenia, na hata vipindi virefu zaidi kwa sababu tunaweza kuona vitu kama hivyo sio tu kwenye chati na grafu lakini pia katika tabaka la dunia. Wakati ni sehemu tu ya uwepo wetu kama kiumbe. Mungu hana wakati. Akaunti hii ya kabla ya uumbaji wa nani Mungu pia inaweza kupatikana katika jina ambalo Mungu alimfunulia Musa katika Kutoka 3:14, Nilikuwa, Ndimi, nitakuwa. Imeonyeshwa katika neno la kwanza kabisa la Mwanzo 1: 1 ambapo kwa Kiebrania hakuna kifungu "the." Sarufi ya neno la Kiebrania inasema kweli "wakati wa kuanza" au "mwanzo." Hii inatoa hisia zaidi ya Mungu akifanya uamuzi wa kuumba mbingu na dunia badala ya kuweka alama ya mwanzo maalum. Mungu alikuwa tayari yuko hapo. Mungu alikuwepo kabla.

Kama mtoto, nilijaribu kuelewa ukuu wa kutokuwa na mwisho kwa Mungu. Ningeuliza ilikuwaje kabla ya Mungu kuumba Mbingu na Dunia? Je! Inamaanisha nini Mungu amekuwa na atakuwa daima? Kama mtoto sikuweza kuelewa. Kwangu nilihisi kama kuangalia vioo viwili vinaelekeana. Tafakari zinaendelea milele kufika mbali zaidi na wakati wa wakati ambao sasa. Lakini, basi tena, Mungu aliumba wakati. Mungu yupo nje ya dhana yetu ya wakati. Walakini, Mungu anajiingiza katika wakati wetu. Sisi ni wadogo sana, lakini Mungu anaona inafaa kutaka tuwe na uhusiano naye. Hii kwangu ni mawazo.
